Welcome to the first step of your new Journey. Don't be scared....just be excited! We, all of us, are on the same journey with you!. I'm glad your goal is reasonable.....be patient. I recommend you do your daily trackers....I know it has helped me. I am a newbie as well....and in 3 weeks I have lost 6 pounds. There are some really great tips, recipes, and exercises on a daily basis. My biggest enemy was those damn exercises but it can be as simple as walking and tracking how far you've walked. Even a few calories burned is better than none. Again, good luck and welcome

My name is Sammie, I am 25 yrs old, I've been overweight all my life. I am joining SparkPeople in the hopes to lose about 100 lbs in the next year or more. I know it will take time and patience but I am willing to take that first step and make a decision to start. I hope with support I can accomplish my goal and become a healthier me. I'm excited and scared at the same time. It's daunting to think about the goal that I've set for myself but I'm yearning for a change and I think beginning with a lifestyle change my weight and health issues will diminish if not disappear. So umm, hello again. I'm rooting for you all that's just starting today. I wouldn't mind some well wishes sent my way either.
