I agree with all the posts below. This is not a "diet" it is a LIFE STYLE change. I walk 10,000 per day and have lost 25lbs which has helped me lower my blood pressure. I use the tracker to monitor my sodium intake. This is a great place to start. There is so much info on the site.
Welcome to this team. We all need to take this thing series. Not unless we are ready to meet our maker. It is so hard we say, because I love all kind of food. I have no self control. We surround our will to the elements around us. I am experiencing that life is to short. That God created us to enjoy life to the fullest. But this means in maturation. That is why a healthy lifestyle is the way to go.It is not a quick diet, or a fix.It is a learned behavior. I thank God every day, for his wisdom in this journey. together we can do it.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me

In GOD We Trust Choose To Lose "If you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired." -General George S Patton, U.S.Army, 1912 Olympian

Wow I know the feeling. I was in an almost identical situation one day at work. The wouldn't even let me walk to the bathroom until m pressure came down. Then straight to the ER. I have struggled with weight and BP my whole life. Well, actually I weighed 120lbs one nite in 1968. I have yo yo'd thru diets and programs but always seem to get right back to where I started. This time I want to do it right. If you read the many tips in here as well as the posts from the members I'm sure you will find it both encouraging and helpful. I just started here last week. I've lost 3 lbs according to the scale this morning....that's better than gaining 3. Good luck!

I had a similar experience back in March. BP 220/120 and very high cholesterol. Spent time in the ER, cat scan, ultra sound, endoscopy. My stomach hurt almost constantly for 2 months. Since then I have made small changes. Taking 1 meal at a time I started to change out what I was eating for healthier options. I also started walking 15 minutes a day. I am know up to 35 minutes of walking a day, BP down to 120/80, and down 29 pounds.
