Welcome to the team! Exercise and weightloss is the way to go to avoid taking pills if you ask me. Keep up the good work and hopefully you'll avoid the diabetes.

I know the exercise and nutritional eating made a difference for me. I've been pre-diabetic for a few years and joined SP in January. In September I had my first good blood test and it was very, very good. I went from 156 four years ago to 92 for fasting blood sugar. And all my other numbers were good as well. Stick with it and be consistent with the exercise.

My name is Juan. I have recently been diagonosed as a borderline diabetic. I was put on Metformin and took it for 4 days and had very bad diaherria, so I got off of it. The doctor told me that if I exercised at least 30 minutes a day and watched my diet, I may be able to control my diabetes without medication, so that's what I'm trying to do. I walk 60 minutes six to seven days a week and play nine holes of golf two to three times a week and i've been watching my diet. It seems to be working because all my readings have been good, when I test myself every morniing. Hope they stay that way. I have to lose about 50 lbs. I weigh about 210 lbs and should weigh about 160 lbs for my 5'8" height. My wife is very helpful in choosing my foods.
