Hi, Peggie, welcome to Spark and to W2L100+AA50! For what it's worth, I'm also 57, and it has taken me a little over six months to lose 33 pounds. I am going very slowly, having set a goal of losing one pound per week. I figure that is a slow-enough rate to be healthy, to enable me to learn new (healthier) habits, and to give my body time to adjust each step of the way, rather than going into 'starvation mode' or some such.
I think you'll find a lot of support and encouragement from the team (we're all in the same boat you are: over 50 and with varying amounts to lose) and lots of good ideas and tips from SP in general.
