I am 60 from NC, I am over halfway there now to my original goal. The habits are becoming ingrained. I just started a new program for exercise with Curves for a year. Losing 1/2 to 1 pound a week. I will be with you at least another year. I enjoy the company. Living life is so much more fun now that mobilty has increased. Keep up the good work all of you.
I think it was Einstein who said, " if you continue doing things the way you always have, then you will continue to get the same results."

Hello everyone. I'm 53 and had 125 pounds to lose. The first year it came off pretty steadily but the past year has been much slower. I'm okay with that, though. I've never stuck to any healthy program for this long and know that I'm developing habits that will last a lifetime. I CANNOT ever go back to being morbidly obese again! It's good to see there are so many of us with a common goal and can share the problems and solutions we find along the way!
Let's all keep chipping away at the weight..we'll all be hot chickies before you know it!!
Hi Sue, Thanks for the info and the welcome. I am actually in Dubai, so there is not much of a time difference. I will get to work getting myself set up with a Spark page and figure out chat rooms, etc. This is all new to me and kind of fun !!
Hi, Peggie, welcome to Spark and to W2L100+AA50! For what it's worth, I'm also 57, and it has taken me a little over six months to lose 33 pounds. I am going very slowly, having set a goal of losing one pound per week. I figure that is a slow-enough rate to be healthy, to enable me to learn new (healthier) habits, and to give my body time to adjust each step of the way, rather than going into 'starvation mode' or some such.
I think you'll find a lot of support and encouragement from the team (we're all in the same boat you are: over 50 and with varying amounts to lose) and lots of good ideas and tips from SP in general.
So, to SP! :-D
p.s. And I see that Sue and I are on the same page again, at practically the same time, LOL!

on being halfway to goal already, you have come to the right place to get encouragement to get the rest off
If you would like to start a spark page we can come and leave you messages and goodies, if you need help please ask. I am in UK so there may be a time delay for answers from me
If you go to your start page(click on left hand top of this page where it says start) and it will show you how to start on this journey of making a page. Do not post anything on there that is private as it will be on the internet, such as keep your e mail address off there, some people put it on but I prefer to give my address out in a private sparkmail if I want someone to have it Please come and join us in our Chat room..click on Working to Lose at the top of this page and then scroll down to the threads and click on Our chat room and we look forward to seeing you there
Hi Everyone. I am new to Spark and have never posted info about myself before. I'm 57, half way to my goal of losing 100 pounds. I started to revert to old ways recently, but I want to do whatever it takes to maintain the motivation and reach my goal. I could use all the support I can get, and give support to others as well !
