Welcome ReneeAnn to our team, and we look forward to getting to know you. You are right, no quick fixes..or everyone would be slimmer and healthier..just hard work and determination. Best advice I can give is to take your time getting to know how to work things round here, track your food and water, walk more, and don't give up. If you stay the same or even gain, keep plodding. ALso take measurements, sometimes the scales don't move but your body shape changes. I had weeks of nothing moving, but I knew I was eating right and exercising and I had lost 8", so keep going.
Come and join us in the chat room, love to see you there(you have probably got there already, but I am in UK and am always on different time, you will be in bed now..lol
Ranee to the group. Take time to make your spark page to be able to just vent or type your thoughts. U never know who will read it and maybe your words will help someone else. U will like this group. Good people here. Again Anna
Welcome and you are absolutely right. There is no "miracle cure" for getting healthy. It is hard work and if we are consistent and stay focused, it will happen. It was hard work putting the excess on so it will be to get it off. If we fail, we have only ourselves to blame but we learn from our mistakes by looking at our successes and feeding off them. Keep trying!!! Just remember the Little Engine.... I Think I Can led to I Know I Can then to I KNEW I COULD!!! Everyone here will help you every step of the way!!!
Just signed up for Spark people last night after viewing a segment on Entertainment tonight. My weight has bounced from an adult low of 168 pounds to 370 pounds and now hovering at age 52 at 292 pounds. I feel not only buried and crushed by my own fat, but by the weight loss information via books, infomercials, E-mails, etc. I know for me a simple approach is the best, I think too much about when to eat, not to eat, when to eat, why, why not? When I read through this site, I felt at peace. A place to post my thoughts, quick track to document exercise, water intake, and fruits and veggies. There is no manic furtive promises of overnight miracles here; but a place I can see what hard work has done for others, and a place where if I slip, others will be there to break the fall.
