You are right, no quick fixes..or everyone would be slimmer and healthier..just hard work and determination.
Best advice I can give is to take your time getting to know how to work things round here, track your food and water, walk more, and don't give up. If you stay the same or even gain, keep plodding. ALso take measurements, sometimes the scales don't move but your body shape changes. I had weeks of nothing moving, but I knew I was eating right and exercising and I had lost 8", so keep going.
