Welcome Stella! This is an awesome bunch of ladies. No matter how many times we have to start over this group is there for you. I find that the number 100 is scary and looks impossible to achieve so I break it up into smaller amounts. I have to lose 20 pounds 5 times! But 20 seems doable while 100 doesn't. So good luck, read lots of articles, check in with the team on good days and bad, and just soak up the love! Marcie

Thanks for the good wishes . I am walking on a treadmill everyday . I can't go for long at a time just 2 or 3 minutes but I break it up over several sessions so I can walk a specific length all together and count the steps that I take so each day up the amount of time ,number of steps and the speed .This is the only way I can use the treadmill without my heart racing to high for safety . I am also working out with little purple barbells to help with the muscles and try to get them into shape again. Needless to say on the days when my Grand babies visit I do not have to do as much of that because lifting and playing with them gives me that kind of exercise but I still try to . I just fall into bed that night exhausted but happy. I am reading all I can from others on this sight and you are all so inspirational . Thanks for your help and kind words

Read your message, welcome to this wonderful team. I can't say enough about Sparkpeople. It has helped me get back on track, when you can see your progress and keep track of what you really are eating. I have a portion control problem and too many carbs in the diet. It sounds like you are doing good things with forgetting the soda, that's a biggie. For myself, if I incorporate some kind of exercise everyday, I see better results and I feel so much better. Set up some goals for yourself, like a reward system, when I lose 10#, 20#, so on. When I have a goal to reach I do better also. It can be little things, like a pedicure, massage, go to a movie, anything that are things you enjoy but haven't done in a long time. Good luck to you and read what others have to say, they can inspire you!

Hello,
I am a recently retired 60 year old RN. I came to sparks to help me lose weight so I can live a more healthy life and have more energy to play with my Grandchildren 5 girls and 1 boy .My husband is due to retire next year and I ,we want to be able to travel with our Grandchildren and show them America as we have seen it. To do this I am going to have to lose weight and expand my energy level . I have started walking daily on my treadmill and counting both calories and points . So far I have lost 8 pounds over a 3 week period . So I know I can do it . I have cut diet cokes and any type of soda from my diet and it has already made me feel more active and with less headaches than previously . Maybe if I feel down at times you all can give me the boost I need to pass the hump in the road . I love reading and writing poetry so I am glad I found this spot
