Hi Mindy welcome, and good luck ,,my sister had the bypass and I would not recommend it ,, she has been so sick since and it has been almost 18 years now yes she lost weight , over 150 lb but to be honest I would rather be fat N BE ME THEN go through what she has good luck on what ever you choose
Hi Mindy, Welcome. Glad you are giving it another start. That is kudos for you. I myself lost forty pounds last year and have gained it all back plus a few. I know that for myself I have to keep a food dairy. (Not that great on computers but I also need to see the food written down infront of me so I can't "forget" a food I have eaten! As some one else said, start slow and build. Do the water thing, maybe a food dairy and take it one step at a time. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing and what we can do to help you. When you have time, do a Spark page, you don't have to put pictures of yourself up but I find it helps people relate to you better and people find it easier to reach out to you. Watching salt intake also trying not to buy foods that have high fructose corn syrup, sugar, rice syrup, corn syrup, fructose, sucrose etc. in the first three ingredients.
No foods that have more than 3 ingredients that I can not pronounce.
If an item has more than 10 ingredients I put it on the Do Not Buy List as it is too processed.
Welcome Mindy! This is an awesome team. Everyone offers lots of support, sympathy, and encouragement to each other. One of the main thoughts is that tomorrow is another day and to take baby steps. The weight didn't appear over night and unfortunately it won't go away overnight either. Just remember we all care about each other and offer each other positive support. Marcie
Hi Mindy, nice to meet you. I would advise you not to try to do too much at once and overwhelm yourself. I started my just learning to drink 8 glasses of water a day ( now on 10), eat at least 5 fruit and veg and start moving more.gradually I have built up from there. I also track my food on the nutrition tracker,can be a shock at first exactly how much we are eating. good luck with your spark journey, any questions,just ask, someone will know. Good Morning! A bit about myself. I found and started SP in May and fell after a few weeks. I am about to start going through stages to find out if I am a candidate for bypass surgery.
