Hello, my name is Tamara. I live in South Dakota with my 2 kids and boyfriend.
I'm an office manager so I'm stuck behind a desk for 8 hours a day. I never knew mental work could be so exhausting! I have no energy to do anything in the evenings so I've been doing my workouts in the mornings even though I'm not a morning person. I'm tired of not being able to keep up with the kids. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi. I'm Jenny and this is my second go at the Spark. It worked before so I know it'll work this time.

I live in SE Wisconsin with my fiance. He has four kids, I have none so this impending stepmom thing really has me going. I'm a stress eater and a boredom eater.

I'm hoping to get lots of inspiration and be an inspiration to others. Baby steps - works for me.

Thanks for joining us on your journey to a HEALTHY lifestyle.
Always remember you didn't gain this weight overnight to don't expect to lose it overnight.
SMALL changes.
Don't burn yourself out on LONG Strenuous workouts.. Some times a 10 minute interval is all you need. Just move and have fun.
Have the support which you will ALWAYS have here.
and I have found journaling helps also.

I hope it's ok for me to join here. I'm not quite 40....have another year to go, but this looked like a team that could be helpful for me. I've been discouraged and frustrated, but I don't want to give up on my goals. I need encouragement and to feel like I'm not in this alone.

With that said, my name is Karen and I live in Florida. I live with my boyfriend and I have 2 children - 1 who still lives with me at least until the end of this school year and the other just recently moved out on her own (I feel too young for that really lol).

I love to read, write, sing, laugh, joke, play games, etc. I think I'm a pretty fun person to be around, but really you'd have to ask someone else because I might be a little biased LOL. :)

I am trying to lose about 100-120 lbs, and like I said, I could just use encouragement right now because I'm so frustrated at my lack of success.

So glad to have found an active team in my age group!! I have just admitted to my self that I have hit the stage of life where my metabolism is slowing down and that what has worked for me in the past now has to be "tweaked" to work for the new and older (and BETTER!) me. I am a 44 year old Mom of three and my youngest will be having his Bar Mitzvah in 5 months. That gives me five months to get myself into gear!!!!
Looking forward to finding new sources of motivation and support on this team, and to giving that right back to others!

Hi i live in pike county pa. i have 3 girls and am happily married. My family has been very encouraging. Working out with my husband has brought us closer and helping my girls see the best choices we all need to make. i was recently told the hardest thing to do is start over, when i start feeling board i need to change it up. Sparks has always helped me i really want to be apart of a group that will not forget me. No one plans on stopping i just happens.

Hi. I'm Bijou and my husband and I are owned by two naughty dogs. I first joined Spark People back in 2008 and have been a member off and on since then. I fully understand how everything on Spark People works, thanks. I'm here looking for commiseration, motivation and encouragement.

Hi all! New to the group. My name is Beth, I'm 40 and fabulous! I am a single mom of a teenage boy. I've been riding the weightloss coaster for FOREVER. I came close to reaching my goal in 2013 and was doing fine until I let life in the way. Gained everything I lost back, plus more, over the course of the last 2 years. Hi, I'm Denise. I first joined SP in 2010 and am back. I am a mom of two active boys, recently returned to the workforce. 2009 I weighed 245 (my heaviest), in 2010 my weight was 230 when I discovered SP, 2011-2012 lost 50lbs. BUT past 2 years have been rough, gained 30 back...Welcome to my 40's!

Starting over at 210, lost 2lbs this week. Looking forward to making new Buddies. Need help staying focused and on track with all these life changes going cuz my health is paying the price for the weight gain.

Welcome to the team! I too am the wife of a retired soldier (though he is older and done working), and he's ALWAYS home. I do love the company, but could live without the snacking (he's a salt freak) and more sedentary lifestyle. So, I'm here typing away which keeps me from stuffing my face. I call myself an obsessive eater -- that's my focus, especially when everyone's asleep (I'm the night owl). It's funny in a sad way that I can get up at 7am and not even feel like eating until well after noon. But then once I start eating, it's a never-ending stream of "what else can I eat?). So I save all my Spark stuff and e-mails for late at night so my fingers are busy typing and not feeding me. I wish you luck on your journey and hope to hear more from you!

Hi, my name is Sandy and I am the Mom to two children. I work full time in a law office so not alot of moving around during the day. I am hoping to lose 80 pounds. I have gained alot of weight since my husband retired from the military and went back to college. He is 43 years old and still trying to decide what he wants to do with his life. Needless to say I have stress ate alot over the past year and gained 40 pounds in the past year. So now I have a long way to go. So far I have lost 6 pounds since January 5th and my goal is to lose 10 by February 5th. I would like to lose close to 2 pounds a week if possible so that I can get close to my goal by the end of the year.

I'm currently doing the Mediterranean Diet, and going to Physical therapy 3 times a week.

Hi, I was a part of the group for a while, then, well life happened. But I am in a better frame of mind now and ready to get back on track.

I am married with 2 cats. I work in retail so I spend most of my time on my feet. Just set up my new pedometer today, so I start counting steps tomorrow. I will decide on a goal after I see what a typical day looks like first.

Maybe even before but since the kids are on break I doubt I can get on the computer.
So little steps nope BABY steps are to be taken so you can stay on track to succeed.
Just add more water

Hi RRomero!

I too am finally starting back too. I turned 47 today and am tired of being over weight. I lost weight too and gained a lot of it back. I don't want to have health issues from stressing my body out like I am so very motivated to get back at it.

It is nice to meet you and look forward in supporting each other in this path to health.

Drop soda one week
Add more veggies one week
Walk for 10 minutes one week
It will all added up and you will have that healthy new lifestyle.

Hi Everyone!! Im new to the team. I am 43 years old. Four years ago I lost 120 lbs, kept it off for a almost two years but the other two years, I gradually put it back. Now I gained back 90 of the 120. Trying to start over and haven't been motivated until now. Two weeks strong but need a lot of support!!

Welcome new members! I thought at this age (48) I'd have my kids out and hubby and I could go explore the world. But "Life" had a different plan for us -- we have a ten-year-old, a disabled adult son and a partially disabled adult daughter. Add seven cats and six dogs, and building a house for the comfort of our kids, and we're not getting far. But I've accepted this life and wouldn't change it. My only change will be losing weight. It's going really slow to almost non-existent, but I'm told that slow and steady wins the race, and I want to win!

Hope to hear more from you.....

Hi, I am Chris and I am NOT a new member but definitely a lapsed member :-) I turned 47 in July and just sent my only child off to college. He is six hours away which is hard, but he is having a great time and doing really well so far. My husband and I have talked about we are lucky to still be quite young to be empty nesters and how this is a great time to finally do some things for ourselves. Weight loss is that thing for me. I have no excuse now - no running to lacrosse, no late night dinners because we just got home from a game, no eating things that my son would like but that aren't great for my weight loss efforts. I need to learn to make my day-to-day a little bit more about me. I have great support from my husband - I just need to make me a priority. Glad to be here emoticon

Hi. I am Suzanne and I am 43.
I joined SP in 2012 and lost about 30 pounds. I was so excited.
Then my parents got really ill and had to move out of their home and our family struggled to help them with their ongoing health issues. I was just sidelined. I gained the 30 pounds back.
In November of 2013 my dad passed away and my mom then died exactly one month later.
I am adjusting to being an orphan. But during my grief I have gained another 20.
So here I am, ready to start again at an even higher weight.

Looking forward to getting my life back in control again.

Hi, I'm 44 and getting on track to lose this extra wt. and even more than that get in better shape so I can do things without pain and breathing hard. My mid 60 yr old parents are in way better shape than me and it is helping to kick me in the butt to change my lifestyle.

emoticon Hello Everyone. I attempted this group last year, but I've been out of work for over a year and was low on motivation. I quit my job because it was very physical and my back finally went. Recently I qualified for assistance and am in physical therapy, going to the gym, looking forward to starting a culinary program soon, and finally feel I am in the right place to make a change. I am ready for it!

Hello, my name is Gayla and i am 42 years old. My original join date was 1/1/2012. The first year i lost 57 lbs then gained the majority of it back. In 2013 I lost about 42 lbs and kept it off until 2014. So i restarted in january of 2014 and lost 42lbs again but have gained 17 lbs back. As of today, July 14, 2014 I am making a new commitment to myself. I want to lose weight to be a healthy me. We can do this!!

Hello, my name is Jennifer, and I have just joined the group. I am 42 and have been struggling with weight loss for the last 20 years. I have done Jenny Craig, Atkins, Weight Watchers, just to name a few, and have always given up. I need something that I can stick with. Something that works for a single working mom.

Welcome Barb, Kathy & Megan!
Thanks for joining us on your journey to a HEALTHY lifestyle.
Always remember you didn't gain this weight overnight to don't expect to lose it overnight.
SMALL changes.
Don't burn yourself out on LONG Strenuous workouts.. Some times a 10 minute interval is all you need.
Have the support which you will ALWAYS have here.
and I have found journaling helps also.
