I think I am in the right group. I am trying to eat fresh produce and trying to figure out how to get organic protein. Right now I am not eating flour, sugar, and dairy.
I'm a school principal and am home for a month or more in the summer. I didn't go out of my house except to buy ice cream, berry pies, and key lime pie and didn't have the energy to do anything. When my anti-depressant medication ran out I decided I was going to stop taking anything and just try diet and exercise because I was still pretty depressed. That was Aug 7. So far it is working. For me I am manic - but this is how I imagine everyone else is all the time. I started logging my food on a tracking program and my daughter suggested I check out SparkPeople. I love it and am excited that I want to really give SparkPeople a try and see if community will help me stay on track. I also set a goal of 15 minutes of exercise (treadmill) 3 times a week. So far I am doing great with my food and exceeding my goals for exercise. My secondary goal is to keep everything going for at least 28 days - hoping that will be enough to set a new habit.
