Your beagles are very cute. Our neighbors had a cute beagle named Gunner and recently he disappeared. The neighborhood seems empty without him. He was in love with a girl dog named Daisy, a yellow lab, and they hunted together and were inseparable. One day Daisy showed up without him. I hope he is okay.

I have lost 42 pounds and like you I do not want to gain it back. We have to make good choices and it hasn't been easy. We have proven we know what works for us.

Well, thank you Morticia. We named one of our beagles "Prudence," and I think it is best to practice that virtue. The people who are most critical of my calorie counting are the ones who need the most weight loss so I just laugh at them when they tell be I obsess. Yes, I do, but look what I've accomplished.

I agree completely. The weight is easy to put on and really hard to take off. That's why I avoid eating out too even though it would be nice sometimes not to have to cook three meals a day. Sometimes you have no choice but to eat out and you just have to do your best. It's not going to be healthy like at home anywhere you eat because it will have at the least too much salt and probably too much sugar and too much saturated fat. I don't think you are obsessing at all - just being prudent.

Eating out is really the biggest challenge I face. I don't eat out often but it's always a dilemma and I anguish over it before I get to the restaurant and then afterwards whether or not I eat the right things.

I don't eat much at chain restaurants and almost never at fast food joints.

The problem is that you never know what they are putting into the food. So you "push away the bread" (if you can - I often cannot), and order a big salad. I do treat myself to Blue Cheese dressing on the side so I can control my consumption of that. I order an unsweetened ice tea and add splenda. I will order a cup of soup if it's not creamed. The other day I had a cup of lentil soup that was really good but I have no idea how much fat it contained or how many calories it held so ...

People tell me that I am obsessing over the calories but I lost almost 50 lbs now and there is not way on earth I am going back there ... No, not never!

Anyway, I am a little particular about what I eat.

I have the nutrition info before hand on most fast food places and know what is safest to order. It's usually a main dish salad with grilled chicken and they usually offer at least one kind of salad dressing that is okay.

I don't usually eat fast food. But I would probably choose a salad with fat free dressing.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
