I used to have that problem, until I started taking a prescription proton pump inhibitor. I couldn't for 5-6 hours after waking up, or within about 4 hours of bedtime, or else I would throw it up. It was awful, and I am so glad I finally saw a doctor. I lost a lot of weight that way, but it wasn't the right way to do it, and I ended up gaining it back.

Hi Savannah, I am new here too and also a sufferer of the painful GORD! This is also a question that I have wanted answered for some time. Before I was diagnosed, throwing up after meals was one of my first symptoms apart from the obvious heartburn BUt yes, generally when I overeat, or eat the wrong things, I feel pretty average and throw up. Not just reflux, but actual throwing up. My doctor said it was quite normal for GORD sufferers and to steer clear of the meals that make me throw up. Hope this has eased your mind a little. Take care
Hi My name is Savannah and have had GERD for 3 years now, and not much has helped to control it. I was wondering this may seem gross but do any of y'all ever throw up after you eat? I do all the time even if it is not an acidic food. My nutritionist said it could just be acid backing up to my esophagus. I was just wondering if it happened to anyone else? Thanks!
