Hi, I'm Cheryl and I'm so excited I found this site and group! I'm a 6th grade teacher 'by day' and a mom to 2 teens. I have learned to love fitness in my adulthood after a thyroid cancer diagnosis nearly 15 years ago. All is good on that front, but it helped me realize that fitness is more than a number on a scale. I initially did a YogaFit training to add to my own practice and get proper alignment instruction for the yoga I used with the track team I was coaching. I have since branched out and am working on my AFAA group exercise certification. I also want to further my yoga knowledge for my own practice and to eventually share on a large scale with others. I also personally do triathlons and road running (from 5k's to 1/2 marathons), and help coach/train/motivate people as they prepare for them. Yoga has helped me with injury prevention and rehab on several occasions. My proudest moment was when my mom, who is 64, completed the Detroit 1/2 marathon with my coaching help this past fall. I LOVE to help others reach their goals and find their strength, both physically and mentally. emoticon

My personals goals are to get my full AFAA group exercise certificate by June 7, 2014 and to run a sub 2:00 1/2 marathon.
