Thanks for suggesting Groupon, I will keep an eye out for one that's a really good idea.

Punchilouie, I usually just do what I feel for the day, I sit down and thumb through my book and pick one that fits in for the day and if I am not inspired by one, I make one up and write it down. I try to challenge myself with poses that I struggle with, after all the only way to get better is to keep trying right?

I have tried meditation, I struggle with it in all honesty. I need to keep a more consistant practice. I am very excited about the Deepak Chopra challenge, I have done one in the past, and I liked it a lot so I hope that it's as good as I remember. I like more guided meditations like those than just sitting in my house without anything. Then I become distracted by everything that needs to be done and I end up getting up after 2 minutes and doing something else.
Thanks for the advice :) I have joined the 15 day a month challenge so here we go.

JMBRILLIANT, since you have not tried it. Check groupon (on-line coupons). See if you can find coupons. I have been somewhat lucky with that.

I have not tried bikram, we didn't have a studio close to home until six months ago. I'm not sure about it, but I have been looking at their schedule for a month now trying to psych myself into going to one.

Thank you for the welcome!
I took a hatha yoga class back in 2007 for 4 months at my college, so I use a lot of information I got there to get me started. From there I have read . . . a ton. From Kundalini, vinyasa, power, more hatha, pretty much anything I could get my hands on at our local library. I took copious notes being the nerd that I am, I have a 3 inch binder full of nothing but yoga pose information, meditation, and principles that I have collected from it all. That and a 3 subject notebook that at first started out as a "Here is a sequence I found on youtube" to "here is something I came up with today because my hips were tight."

The most important thing is to keep trying. You never hear a real success story ending in "and I sat on the couch the whole time."

Hi, my name is Jennifer. I am 26, married, with 2 kids. I am 170 pounds trying to lose another 30-40. I love my yoga practice, and do all of it at home. Looking forward to getting to know you all.
