Hi I am so glad to find this team! I have done yoga on and off for years (the off periods were when life got to hectic though I still did yoga stretching and salute to the sun every morning but didn't get to classes). I have been going to classes more regularly for about three years - but only in about the last six months found a teacher that I love again at my local gym and have been going more often. Have started 2013 going to classes two to three times a week. I love the mindful exercise that yoga embodies and the time spent focusing on the moment. I have done different forms but at the moment am doing iyengar. I try to do a few salutes to the sun every morning even when there are no classes/I can't get to them. My goal for this year is to build up my back, arm and shoulder muscles so that I can hold dolphin for longer and go up into a headstand again - even if only against the wall. I also want to increase the flexibility of my back so that the plow is easy again. Want also to work on balancing longer in tree pose. I have been lucky with yoga as my mother who is now 86 practised yoga throughout my childhood so was "exposed" to the wonder of it from very young. She can still touch her toes and does a range of yoga poses on her own every morning and is a real inspiration to anyone unsure of the joy and benefit of yoga.
