I truly feel the best way to get the habit of yoga ingrained is through classes. So I would try and save money till you can afford a class, even one a month may be enough if you supplement with DVDs. You might want to buy a Yoga Journal magazine, and read books from library to get more acquainted.
There are so many DVDs out there, to find one that does not bore you may take time. I enjoy Rodney Yee, Suzanne Deason.
Sorry no easy answers, but the calming and mindful rewards often come after some time practicing Yoga.

I love yoga but I'm at a loss of how to practice it. I cant afford to take classes at a gym but home DVDs are sooo boring and when I try to make up my own routine with familiar moves, taht gets boring and I'm focusing on what to do instead of calming my mind and honing my body. Can you help?

So, my name is Katie; I'm 20 years old. The reason I signed up for this site is because I wanna change some of my ugly life habits that will likely kill me before I'm 40. My boyfriend Zach is on his way to becoming a Navy SEAL and I don't want to feel out of place in this high intinsity community. I'm not really interested in losing weight or dress sizes, just body fat percentage. I wanna be one of those old people who's more fit than 20 year olds! But, I have a huge problem with commitment to work out schedules and diets and allathat. Here's hoping i can stick with this!
