What kinds of practices are you doing to get to handstand? I can't really throw myself up in the air, because I have an arthritic ankle (from an badly broken leg) that I have the baby.

Lost 65 lbs and maintained since 2006.

Yoga is an amazing practice!
I am working on the handstand... I have never been very good at that so it is a big challenge. I hope to master it soon!
So happy to find a team that can offer advice to improve my daily practice.

I can relate to many of the reasons that you turn to yoga. I can very much feel the difference when I don't do my yoga daily. It really does even my body out in several ways.

I love all the reasons you turn to yoga.... these all work for me as well. In addition, I am beginning to discover that the way I do my yoga is carrying over into the way I do my life.... being present and mindful.

When I need peace of mind I turn to yoga, when I need to feel strength I turn to yoga & when I need balance I turn to yoga!
The practice found me almost 8 years ago. After I had my second child I needed something new to help me loose ALL the weight I gained (I was 208lbs a week before delivery). I had no motivation to run or do push-ups, crunches...etc. Yoga just fit! I saw results plus it took away stress & fears.
Today I am crazy active & back to pre baby size... maybe smaller?
Staying fit is hard work but I enjoy every minute. I am greatful to have supportive family, friends, SparkPeople, and Advocare.
