Hi! I'm an almost-30 year old female who is happily married, and is hoping to start a family in the near future. I was diagnosed with PCOS in June of 2012 and am trying to cope with the implications of that diagnosis, combined with my desire to lose weight & have a family.
I am enrolled in Weight Watchers & follow the Points System. But I also incorporate a reduced-carb, carb-distributed diet. I am joining SparkPeople due to the larger community support system & the ability to carb-count easier with SparkPeople. The PCOS teams here seem to be a lot more active & supportive than the ones found on other fitness/weight loss sites. I look forward to the information that can be gained from others in this group.
I know that the PCOS diagnosis has thrown me for a loop. It's funny, I felt like something was the matter with me metabolically in my late teens...but everyone just told me my symptoms & irregularities were just stress-related & I needed to lose weight. 10+ years & a few OBGYNs later...and here I am....
