Hey y'all. I was just diagnosed recently with PCOS.....so far I am NOT on any drugs yet.....I have just learned through here about metformin so I would like to talk to my ob/gyn about them. She is hesitant to put me on clomid because although I am very overweight, I am only 4'10" with a petite stature and she doesn't want to risk a multple pregnancy with me. So....here I am. I am trying to do the obvious things to lose weight such as diet and exercise. Unfortunately I have a unhealthy relationship with Peanut M&M's lately.....sigh....how's that for sabotaging?! haha Seriously though, my hardest part is the exercise. I think I am just going to have to make up some sort of baby mantra to get me through the exercising and the making healthier low carb eating choices....something that keeps the WHY in the forefront of my mind (not like I can forget, and I know it is the pain surrounding all of this that keeps me in the bad eating choices also)
Anyway I just wanted to say welcome and hello and so glad we aren't alone.

Hi Shashy...welcome to the team.
I was diagnosed with PCOS on Oct 19. I too am on 500mg of metformin a day working my way up. It is a shock and man does it explain a lot.
I am hoping it helps me lose some of this weight that has been so hard to get off. We are all here to help and support you any way we can. I wish you much luck. I am 31 and hoping to have children soon also :)
Interested in joining a team, I lead the following teams:

Hi, I'm Shashy. I'm new to this team, but not to Spark people. I joined Spark people in 2/2010 to help lose weight for my wedding. I lost some (not as much as I had hoped), but gained it all back and then some!
I started having trouble with my weight when puberty hit. Don't most of us? I never had a regular menstrual cycle, but I wasn't really concerned. I didn't want to have kids anyhow.
Fast forward Now I'm 32, married and want to have kids... I was diagnosed with PCOS 2 weeks ago. Boy does it explain a lot! I'm taking metformin 500mg a day working my way up to 1500mg a day.
My husband is supportive, but is a busy law student. He doesn't have time to drag me to the gym so any help staying motivated that the team can offer, sure would be appreciated!
