I have been off Sparkspeople for several months due to some personal problems. I have every symptoms of PCOS...UGH...I have been to many physicians since I was 14 years old, and they always told my mother, that my cycle would become normal as I got older, only to realize that it got worse as I got older. When I was 18 years old, I was told that I had Metabolic Syndrome and was never given much information about what it was or what I needed to do. The physicians just kept telling me I need to lose weight and that I am borderline Type 2 Diabetes. Then I met up with an Endocrinologist and was educated on what was really going on with my body. I had tried so many diets to include Weight Watchers, LA Weight Loss, Atkins (which nearly killed me) and not to mention all the diet pills that I tried. I would lose some weight and then a few months down the road the weight came right back on. I now realize that it is not a diet that I need, I need a lifestyle change. I need to be able to learn how to eat properly and learn what the pros and cons of food are associated with woman who have PCOS. I lack motivation. Suffering with chronic fatigue as well, certainly does not make it easy for me to get up and exercise after working. I work in the medical field, as a NCMA for a Rheumatologist and I have a hard time getting those small meals and snacks in cause I am always on the go and this becomes extremely frustrating to me and then I get into the "why bother mode". I am in desperate need to get this weight off. Thanks for listening.
