This group is great and I am looking forward to being a member of it. I was diagnosed with pcos about 1.5 months ago. Although my gp had mentioned it previously. It explains a couple things that had remained a mystery to me. I have a family history of pcos and other fertility issues. However I never really had much of an issue until recently. From January 2010 to June 2010 I lost roughly 20 pounds. I did this by cutting out most refined carbs. But when I moved I reintroduced carbs in ways I never had before. Never really been a huge sweets person but started working in an office where candy and cookies were a staple. Needless to say this sent my system haywire. Since the dr. talked me about losing another 20 pounds, I bought and have been reading the PCOS Diet Plan. I have modified my eating and the weight is coming off.
My dr. put me on Necon 1/35 which I promptly had horrible side effects. So we switched to yaz which in a short period of time has made my stomach hurt, weird dreams and my eyebrows are falling out. Needless to say, I think I am going to try diet and exercise before starting birth control again.
That is my story folks. My motivation is coming from not wanting to be as sick as the medication made me at the moment and wanting to be as healthy as I can.
