I got my dx back in March 2009. I'd been aggressively dealing with uterine fibroids for the past two years, so imagine my surprise when it took a bad eye exam to suggest ruling out diabetes. Those tests came back negative, but it was then that my IM asked if I'd ever been tested for PCOS. I have the tell-tale symptoms: acne, skin tags (I'd bleach my neck if I could) and yes, I can grow a beard in week if I wanted! I felt as though the medical community had really let me down. Needless to say, the endocrinologist confirmed insulin resistance and that's why I'm here today. I know that getting my weight down is a huge part of this journey. So thanks for this SparkTeam and the motivation!
