Hello I'm not new to sparkpeople but I do have pcos just looking for some encouragement and people to chat with while trying to loose some of this weight. I've had pcos since early adulthood I am now 33 years old struggled with it alot I've never been able to concieve and am hoping maybe with weight loss it will help!

Hello everyone.

My name is Sarah and I am 35 years old. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 1996-97 somewhere along in that time frame. I have struggled with my weight since graduating from high school. I have two fabulous children that are absolute miracles. Currently I am at 215 lbs and this depresses me because I always said I would absolutely not let myself get above 200. But here I am. In 2004 I managed to get down to 160 which is my goal now. I felt great at that weight and feel like it is an attainable goal. In 2006 my husband got very sick and we discovered that he had a severely leaking heart valve. This required open heart surgery and a very lengthy recovery process. This is when I lost control of my eating and exercising habits that had maintained the 160 lbs. At the beginning of this year I have decided to regain control of my body. I joined the local gym and committed to daily exercise. My diet has never really been a problem. I manage to eat mostly healthy foods most of the time. Anyway, my sister sent me info on this website and it looks like a great way to get some support and track my progress. Thanks for having me.
