Let us know what the Doc says and about the Ursidol. I was told I had a gallstone about 10yrs ago and they said if it wasn't bothering me, leave it alone. Said I was also going to be prone to them all my life (don't' quite remember now if I even asked "why" at that point). Over the past yr, I've had 3 major attacks lasting 2-3hrs. I wanted to go to the emergency and have them take it out right then! My mom just had hers out a few months ago and feels TONS better, but I think hers was a different story because they found her was pretty much disintegrated. Anyway, good luck, take care and keep us posted!

I had gall stones for 4 years. I know your pain I would have attacks that would last 2hours! It was nuts! I had my removed in July! It was such a easy procedure I was back to work on Wednesday after having it out the Friday before...I have 4 small cuts and that is it! I did not want to have it done but now I am so glad that I did

Thanbks Ladies for the info. I attempted to call the Dr today about all of this:. The Pharmacist told me of a medication, Ursidol?? that aids in breaking up gall stones. I will see what the dr tells me. Thanks again.

There are non-invasive methods of dealing with gall stones. I can't remember who, but someone I knew (might possibly have been my dad even...) had ultrasonic treatments. They help break up the stone into smaller pieces with vibrations, so it's easier to pass and get rid of.

Might be worth looking into rather than trying to pass the stone as is. Of course, if you're asymptomatic (meaning the stone isn't bothering you) you're probably best leaving well enough alone.

Sorry if I can't help you, I had my gallbladder removed when I was 16,5. All I can say is that I know that the medical intervention nowadays is pretty easy while 20 years ago, the surgery left me with 19 stitches LOL! I know several persns though who still suffer even after having their gallbladder removed some years ago - no mayo or any other heavy food for them. The stone(s) can become threatening if they are to be and block the pipes in there ;-) which was my case. I guess each person's body is different so you'll need to make your own choices. Good luck in any case!

hI THERE.. SO, THIS IS THE 1ST TIME I STARTED a topic but Im so scared I had to ask people if they are going thru this as well.
1st off, im chicken of drs... I am blessed to not have been in the hosp since the day I was born 35yrs ago.
So, I was diag about 2 yrs ago with 1 gall stone. I was told that it is 1 cm in size. My dr said that most people have stones their whole lives and nothing happens... I have gall stone attacks every once in awhile, they are killer. when I watch what I eat, im fine but then, with my lack of will power, I am the 1st to admit that since Thanksgiving, it has all been one big food blur. So, I get an attack...
Now, I am the queen of Google and I have googled some info on like a cleanse that can help you pass a stone? Trouble is... Im afraid of what damage I might do if the stone is too large to pass. Called the pharmacist and she told me that there are meds that can prevent more gall stones. think I might call my dr about it.
Just curious if anyone out ther has similiar troubles?
Take care all
God Bless
