That has been one of the most challenging things for me, with Spark People-because I can't just click on the foods in the tracker that the staff has put in, because most of the time it's not gonna be in there. Often I cook with whatever we have, or am experimenting, so it's not even a recipe. I started this group for that reason, to get support, but have been gone off Spark for some time. Who is the administer here now???

Right with you!!! I cooked complete dinners for others when about 10 yrs. of age. Also cook from scratch and often can't repeat the same dish twice. A friend calls me "The Kitchen Lady" because I spend so much time there. Kind of therapy for me.
Always thought I was crazy to teach school all day then return home and bake in the evening - and then one day I read of a doctor who worked all day and baking was his therapy when he got home in evening so decided I wasn't so crazy after all.
In the summer I cook for 8 and four are on gluten free diets, then in winter it's just DH and me and luckily we both eat leftovers well. Right now, our family of 13 is coming for the holidays and I am doing lots of cooking in my little kitchen here in FL.
Matter-of-fact, I'd better get busy right now with sweet potato casserole and 10 lbs. of mashed potatoes. Fattening, but so good!

Hi,

I started cooking at age 4. I woke up early and fried my own eggs. I've been cooking ever since. I'm now 52, and I live in Sarnia Ontario Canada with my husband, 2 dogs, 4 cats, and my 92-year-old father. I make my own dog food from scratch and freeze it, and I make soups from scratch for my father's lunches.

I love to cook and bake, and prefer to cook from scratch so I know what's in my food. I either don't use recipes or don't follow them exactly, so I have to remind myself to measure and write down what I do (so I can track).
