Wow, I thought I cooked from scratch - making my own stocks and never using a cake mix. Your a serious scrather. I accidentally made a corn bread using chickpea or lentil flour (Gram flour) the other day - I mixed up my containers. Its typically used in Indian cooking. Wow! I am so happy to find that there are people on SP that cook from scratch!!! I was getting very overwhelmed. I am sure hoping for some tips on how to best use this site. I am a Nourishing Traditions cook. I soak my grains, drink raw milk, make my own yogurt, buttermilk and eat mostly grass fed, organic foods. Our family has wheat, soy and chemical allergies which makes life more interesting but it's been fun most of the time for me.(get to experiment with new foods) The kids, mostly ok but they miss the bread. I rarely use white flour(for those who can eat it) or white sugar mostly honey from my dad's bees and maple syrup from the local Amish. I love to cook and I love to eat. I am 46, about 20-25 pounds over weight and just want to increase my energy, keep my BP med free and tone up. I struggle with portion control. Not out of control eating just too many seconds to ever slim down to where I should be. I hope to meet some new friend here on the forum. God Bless, Tammy
