I love to collect cookbooks, I enjoy sitting down and reading them too. But when it comes to fixing a meal I never go grab a cookbook and follow their recipe.
I am a experimental cook, if it sounds good together then I put it together.
For instance I had some kidney beans cooking, and cooked up some brown rice, so I mixed it all together and added a little hamburger with TVP, some Chipotle sauce and called it dinner. Friends and DH loved it with a salad on the side. I cook with grains a lot and mix in veggies, and a little meat. I eat things now I never thought I would, like bulgar, turnips, kale, lentil and cous cous. Tofu and TVP has become my staples. I have fun with foods now.
