I have had that same problem. My dtr always teases me about saving everything. I always cook too much it seems and hate to throw anything away. So it goes to waist! But since I have started SP again, I notice there are not so many leftovers. And since I make a month's menus and put days for leftovers on it, I am now having to change my menus...Hmmmm, that could cause a problem. Now I have to think up new ones. But I am gradually getting everyone else to eat better. We have four kids (and one I am in the process of adopting coming soon) in the house and trying to please all of their pickiness ways is just too much. Now that I am eating better, they have to or else fix a sandwich for dinner. I am determined and will not give up.
LOL! That's all it takes sometimes! We have that problem here, too. The going-to-waist so it won't go-to-waste problem. I never heard of those berries, either, but we are doing blueberries right now. I love berries, too, but can't eat blackberries because of the seeds. Sometimes raspberries are ok, and sometimes not. We had a church picnic the other day, and somebody brought the most amazing mixed-berry pie! Wonderful flavor, but I had to give it to hubby, because of the blackberry seeds. Still, I got a taste!
Saskatoon berries are like blueberries, a bit smaller and very flavour-full! They grow very abundantly here in Saskatchewan and many people say that they like them better than any other berry... personally I love all berries, I can't pick a favorite! The challenge is letting as few as possible of these little treasures "go to waste", so they end up "going to MY waist"!

I think my favorite thing to bake right now is zucchini bread. A friend of ours has a garden and her zucchini are so big! I have NEVER seen them this size. I have been baking bread all summer for everyone. I even made about 4 loaves and 4 dz muffins for a church function. They are so good even my 9 yr old grandson that hates veggies loves them. And they are low fat and healthy for you. So no guilt. I say right now because my tastes change along with my mood and I bake whatever comes to mind that I feel like having. I have had quiche on my mind for the past couple of days. I'll probably make one this weekend or Monday. I'm making myself hungry!
