I agree, its more of a method and a feel for the amount of spice to be added based on experience. I don't think I have ever worked with recipes, but in putting together my first for SP, I found the recipe tool to be amazing.

Welcome to the group! I don't usually use a recipe either but have created several since I've been on Spark. I have to figure out my calorie consumption somehow. LOL One thing that helps me is that I have a pretty fair eye for estimating measurements so that I can enter things pretty easily without having to spend a lot of time actually measuring things.
I cook from scratch because that's what my family always did and it's how I learned to cook. I often have people ask me for recipes but so many things are more a method than a real recipe. It makes for an interesting time.

Hello, I love cooking from scrath, usually without a recipe, mainly due to the creative aspects.I have already posted a recipe, that I made on my first day as a SP. My wife and son thought it was delicious. I also belive in scratch cooking because I don't believe in packaging.
