Yes; this team can be a great lifeline. I found BUG's monthly Stickies really helpful. Posting daily calories and daily weights (and, if I decided to exercise, daily exercise too) really helped to keep me accountable to myself, because I knew that I was sharing my weight-loss choices with others.
Even now, while I am in "maintenance", I continue to post regularly. IMO, a temporary diet means a temporary weight loss.
