Do you count calories on your up days or are you estimating? The correct way is to only eat until satisfied on up days. The object is to learn to eat less and that never happens if you are overeating on the up days. My definition of satisfied is to eat correct portion sizes and if you still want more hold firm and wait until it passes. You will soon adjust to eating less on the up days. If you noticed, Faith, (Mama) doesn't eat that many calories on her up days. Some try this diet because they think they can eat whatever and how much they want on the up days. In 4 years I have never seen these people succeed. I believe that 2000 calories probably exceeds your maintenance calories. After a 500 down day, 1200 seems like a feast. The weight gain after an up day is because you have more food in your body and may have eaten too many calories. When you eat that much on an up day you are not apt to be able to get control over your hunger. I hope this helps. Drinking a lot of water does help. I always drink 16 oz of water before meals and also in between meals.
BTW, did you guys hear that popcorn may be better for you than fruits and veggies. I'd take that with a grain of salt~

First of all...I would stop weighing myself daily...it can be very discouraging. Your body could still be adjusting. Also, be sure to pick healthy foods on Up days and only eat till your full...this may mean that you only eat 1200 calories or so rather than 2000. It never hurts to add a little exercise. Even 20 minutes a day is better than nothing. Any of us can walk in place even watching t.v. if we need to. You will be surprised what those 20 minutes can do to help jump start your weight loss. Its great that you are drinking lots of water but also be mindful of the amount of salt intake you are doing. This can cause you to retain water which will keep the scale in one spot. It may take some tweaking to find the right combination that works for you but I know that you can do this. As Mamabug has done, she tweaked the JUDDD diet to suit her needs, you can always do the same. I am doing 2 down days in a row because I did not get a good start to my week and its my 5 year anniversary on Saturday so my up day might be a little higher in calories than I would usually shoot for. Mixing it up can keep your body guessing which is good because the body will adjust to certain patterns so that it can be harder to lose weight. By mixing up foods you eat, the exercise that you do and the number of down days will keep this from happening. We are always here for you and encouraging you. You can do this.

Hi everybody, i just started last saturday, i had only whey protein (400calories) the first two DDs but then i hated the sweet taste that stays in my mouth all day long so i decided the next DD to eat real food, it was yesterday (to be clear the 3 down days were sat, mon, wed), i find DDs a little difficult at this point but im doing good, only what upsets me is that i dont lose weight :( i lose less than 1 pound after a DD the the next day i gain it all back (i stick to 2000 cal on up days) then lose it again the DD and gain it all back and more on the next UD :( should i worry? it's been about a week now, usually the first weeks are when people lose more right? am i doing sth wrong? btw i drink tons of water :(
