As to how much weight lost in the first two weeks, you are right, it varies. Just as one size doesn't fit all, different people lose different amounts. If you have not been dieting before starting and you stick to the 500 or less you will lose more. Also it depends on how overweight you are, the heavier you are, the more you are likely to lose. I have had this team for 4 years and we were quite strict about sticking to the plan. We have had several reach goal successfully doing the plan as written but it's not just to reach goal but also to maintain with. If you cheat, don't count calories, eat more than just until satisfied on up days or more than 500 on down days, you may think the plan doesn't work, but it does and it teaches us just how much we are overeating. Human nature always wants the easy magic bullet but no diet works unless you follow it as written. The only exception to that is Faith and she modified it to her way but although she didn't go so low on down days, she kept her up days very much under control. Everyone else who modifies usually doesn't stick with it and doesn't lose consistently. As to exercise on a down day, most do exercise on down days and even as strenuously as on other days. If you are hungry or dizzy it probably means you are not drinking enough water. I hope this helps you, BTW, most people find after doing a 500 or less down day that surprisingly enough they are less hungry on the up days..the object of the plan is not only to lose weight but to learn to eat less and to eat more good food cutting out the junk. The less white or processed food that you eat, the easier it will be. This is a lifetime plan to being healthy..

Thank you buglet for the welcome and the tips. Its good to know there's a forum with real people who have been there and are willing to offer advice, tips, and support. Do you know the weight loss a, person can expect after the first two Weeks? I know it varies from person to person. I plan to keep up my y routine on this diet which brings me to another question...exercise during a down day... Does it make you even hungrier or maybe even weak or dizzy?

Most people start with a down day because unless you've been dieting you have had an up day. A lot of us do Monday, Wed, Friday with Sat and Sun day as one up day and one medium day.
You really need to count your calories for the down days to be sure you stay at 500 or less. The first down day is the hardest and then you start choosing your calories wisely and either eating foods you know the calorie count for or drinking the shakes for the two weeks prescribed.
Good luck, let us know how you're doing..Welcome to the team~

Does it matter what day you start? Do you start with the DD or the UD? I have bought the book just about an hour ago online (ebay) but curious to know what day you should start the diet with or does it matter.... For me,right I'm doing a eating habit of watching my carbs, fats and overall calorie intake. I do not count calories but I do genrally guess what I'm eating for each meal so I'm not overdoing it for the day. I am excited to try this diet. I am unsure of the DD but I know if I can overcome what I have so far in this weight loss journey, hopefully i'll be ableto do this diet and stick with it.
