Welcome to the team. Sounds like you are eating in a good carb range. Where are you from in Illinois?

I am diabetic also.
I eat 160-200 Grams of Carbs a day. I use good carbs,
fruits, veggies, whole grain breads with lots of fiber in
them. Also the mixed rices that have the good ones in
them, takes about 45 min to cook.
Calories between 1200 - 1700.
I am having trouble keeping my blood sugars up. I eat very
well, don't skimp on meals. Most days have 3 snacks also.
I exercise 2 hours most days between the gym, aerobics
classes & walking.

I lost 16.5 Pounds in the last 3 months and 20 since
January 1. I am now 70 pounds less than I used to be.
A few months ago my sugars were in the 160's & higher
when I woke up in the AM now most days under 110
& they keep dropping way below 100 during the day. That
is why I have to have the snacks.

Fruits and vegees are great, but if you are in 'weight loss mode', fruits can stall you/make it so weight loss takes longer and starchy vegees have higher carb count.

I am trying to eat a lo carb plan to keep BG in line. For the most part I am doing well with this. I try to stay between 50-70 grams a day. I am getting most of my carbs from veggies and a few fruits. I am hoping to learn new ways to eat and some new reciepes. I am not new to Sparkpeople but new to this team. I am looking forward to eating better!
