Hi Kierae, I don稚 follow a plan; I知 just choosing lower carbs. I used to eat lots of rice, bread, and potatoes so I知 starting eliminating those habits.
Morticiaaddams, thanks for the advice, I致e been eating the aforementioned carbs in large amounts for too long. I知 gradually taking them out of my diet and I知 going to try and change some for the low glycemic veggies and fruits you mentioned =)

My advice is to get your carbs chiefly from low glycemic veggies and low glycemic fruits followed by moderate ones. They are the best bang for your buck. Seed and nuts are also good choices.

I知 new at this low carb diet. I have insulin resistance, but I've never actually prepared a proper diet for it until now. I've already reduced my carbohydrates intake; I still get a little carried away sometimes but I hope to continue to reduce it to a healthy level.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all in the future, if you have any pointers for a beginner like me, please let me know =)
