I think most of us struggle with consistency and that's why it's so important to focus on making lifestyle changes rather than rush to the 'finish line' with a diet, only to discover it was a 'bus stop' rather than the 'end of the line' - I really enjoy hiking so I find it a lot easier to be consistent with my hiking commitments and doing things that will make hiking easier, faster, better or whatever also appeal to me and are easier to do. If I try to 'make' myself do some exercise that I don't like, it doesn't last very long. When I try to exercise in 'big bursts,' I also find I get sore, tired and that kills the motivation, too.
