Actually people don't actually have to eat carbs as the body will convert fat and protein into glucose if carbs are not available. LOL.
People have a lot of misconceptions about paleo and Atkins. Although you can eat as much meat as you want you pretty well can on South Beach too and none of the diets recommends eating tons of meat. They start with serving sizes and allow you to have more to keep you satiated. Atkins is actually a high fat diet, not a high protein diet like many people think. And Paleo is about culling processed foods and eating natural foods that a caveman might have eaten. They recommend a lot of low glycemic veggies actually. 2 cups of salad greens and a cup of low glycemic veggies for Atkins which is surprising to many people. I know people who eat more veggies on Atkins than they did before they started it. LOL. I have never done Atkins because I love fruits and more veggies that are not on the list. My favorite diets are south beach and primal.
