That sounds yummy KIERAE! I can Google around for them, but thank you. I love ideas for how to eat familiar foods (like pizza) in new ways!

cauliflower crust....portabello mushroom (actually this is one of my favs)...have used low carb wraps (kinda doesn't work well for me as pizza base but as a roll up pizza sandwich..lol)...tried zucchini. Haven't tried the chicken breast one (believe the crust is ground up chicken breast mixed with cheese).

I can dig up the recipe alternatives if you want.

I rarely eat pizza but have come up with some crust free variations that helps when I feel the need.

Hmm. After a long day my bf and I just ordered in a pizza. Vegetarian toppings, gluten-free crust, and I just feel gross. My stomach is bloaty and I don't even feel full (I ate two slices but don't want any more than that). So not worth it! Low carbing is so quickly becoming the norm - I like it!

The difference would be figuring out the carb level that works for YOU. What is low carb for me may not be truly low carb for most folks.

What's the difference for you between smart carbing and low carbing, by the way?

It's a good idea to get some done every year if you can afford it but gluten sensitivity is often hard to diagnose and can come up negative for years, like lupus and other autoimmune diseases. The most accurate diagnosis for celiac disease is by gastroscopy.

It sounds like you definitely have some gluten and blood sugar issues. It makes a big difference when you avoid them.

I'm starting to learn what the differnt symptoms are for different carby things. Sugar makes me feel crazy. Starch (e.g. bread) makes me bloated and gassy. All in all, I think it was the right decision to start cutting carbs. One of my clients at work today (who obviously knows nothing about my personal life) said to me, "Hey, you look great lately, very energetic and relaxed." Something's working!

One or both of these things may actually be triggers for you or it could be that the combination of the two put you over your carb tolerance but it's something to remember and avoid. I can eat my chocolate with no symptoms.

Yes I love dark chocolate too. I don't usually eat milk chocolate but had a bit yesterday. Same with wine, I don't drink much but had a bit yesterday. I don't believe in totally restricting things that I like, because I love food. I was just so surprised at how cloudy it made me feel!

Certain kinds of chocolate can actually be healthy for you and I consume them in small amounts. I prefer semi-sweet with a high cacao concentration and no added sugar. I like the bitterness of this kind of chocolate. I'm not a milk chocolate fan. And some studies show that a small amount of wine can be healthy if you already drink to begin with. I prefer to eat grapes. LOL.

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I had some chocolate last night and a glass of wine and felt crazy...the sugar rush was almost more than I could handle. I was surprised at how terrible it made me feel - moody and tired almost immediately.

Smart carbing is great. It really does increase your energy levels when you get rid of the carbs that spike blood sugar.

Welcome to the team!! You will have plenty of healthy food to eat with tofu, low carb veggies, berries, nuts, and eggs, dairy, and other fruits if you eat them. There are plenty of low carb food lists online.

Hi all,

I've just joined the team as I decided to try low carb eating a couple weeks ago based upon the successes I've witnessed others have with it. I'm a vegetarian, so have to do a fair amount of research to figure out how to eat healthy while cutting out the starchy stuff. I'm struggling to lose the 25 lbs I put on over the last year and a half as a result of depression and then antidepressants. I'm hoping to get some good info and share my struggles and most of all, keep motivated!

Best,
Sarah
