It's been a great change for me. My health and wellbeing are so improved - the weight loss has been a boon (and what I really began to accomplish), but I find I appreciate the other benefits at least as much as that loss. That seems to be a common thread for many on the various low-carb plans, and I hope it will work out the same for you!
It's good you recognize your weakness for carbs. I also am a lifetime carb addict. Those cravings have all but disappeared for the most part, but I know it's still there. I have to be extra vigilant, because it only takes a mouthful to start me up. Breads and rice are the worst. I just daren't go there at all.
