Much of my success is due to lack of temptation. Unlike many people my willpower is often not good so I try to not have the bad stuff around. Then I'm forced to eat healthy food. Sometimes it's hard when I don't want healthy food but a little hunger won't kill anyone.

I would also struggle if I had to work as I always had the "It's just one" mentality. One bagel or one doughnut us a tons of calories and carbs though and a massive trigger for me.

You need to bring something from home that you love for a sub for the cookies and avoid that area.

My husband and I have an agreement. Stuff your face with it elsewhere but don''t bring it home..

I try not to buy high Carb foods. Your right, if their not in the house I seem to do ok. My biggest down falls seems to be work and the foods that others bring in. During the week my work has a coffee stand inside that sells the bestest large cookies and coffee. They charge us via payroll deduct, so you don't even see the impact until 2 weeks later (just like the body) I got in a bad habit of having one of these giant cookies everyday. When I tell myself that I'm going to be good and then get stressed at work, I find my self not even thinking about it and have cookie in mouth.

My husband is the worst. He works night shift and will make midnight runs to the store for icecream and popcorn all kinds of goodies. Once they have made their way into the house, I find myself eating them. I even justified to myself "If I go ahead and eat it all now, then it wont be there to tempt me later. It's always the high Carb foods. I quit smoking 10 years ago, that wasn't as hard as cutting Carbs.

I'm a smart mature woman, I've got to get myself on track.....
Thank you for the welocme.

Welcome to the team!! I'm also highly active but tend to eat too much - even healthy food. LOL.

"I would suggest that the first thing you should do is to keep low quality carbs out of your house, especially if they are trigger foods. Although our bodies require less carbs/calries as we get olde, it is essential that we always have some form of carb as part of a healthy diet, even if it is a piece of fruit or glass of milk as a snack or with a meal."

Just checking in. My name is carrie, I'm from Mcminnville Or. I always feel better when Carbs are cut from my diet or consumed as healthy Carbs. My Husband is Diabetic and we found that Carbs are not his friend. I would live to drop 30-40 LBS from my body frame and be motivated to keep it off. I'm very active. I hike, fish, ride bikes, I just have no self control it seems.
