I really liked the insulin resistance book -- their concept of link and balance really makes sense to me, so if I slip up with too many carbs, I quickly balance with some protein. If I use that strategy, I may plateau for a day or two, but I don't gain. It has been really helpful as I have been maintaining this summer.

Welcome Kathi! I read your blog and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sadly, my copy of Master Your Metabolism is buried under a pile of books in the seat of my recumbent exercise bike. Now that's a sad commentary on my laziness. My 15 minutes of decluttering today is going to be clearing off the bike and then actually using it. I'm a terrible solitaire addict, so no solitaire until I finish reading Master Your Metabolism. Glad you joined the team!

Hi, my name's Kathi and I joined this team a few days ago. I'm looking for new ways to solve old problems and after checking out two books from the library, The Insulin-Resistance Diet and Jillian Michaels' Master Your Metabolism, I decided to look into reducing and rearranging my carb intake. It's been about 3 weeks now since I started this; so far, so good!!
