Ah never mind, got it working. Seems like the armband wasn't quite charged and so wasn't activating / connecting. Gave it another 5 minutes and everything linked up perfectly. Now to see how it tracks...
Can someone explain this process to me? I'd like to think that it's simple, but after following directions I'm no further than I was before. Got my BodyMedia FIT today, created an account and set up my activity manager with goals etc. When I click the link given to connect SP to my BodyMedia account, I get a page that asks for login info. I enter in my BodyMedia login info and get a success message that says the 2 accounts are now linked. The problem is, they don't actually seem to be linked. There is nothing inside of my SP account indicating that I've linked it to my BodyMedia account or armband. When I check Installed Apps inside of the BodyMedia activity manager, SparkPeople doesn't show as being installed. I don't see anything on either of the mobile apps to facilitate the process.
Why is this process so complicated? If they're supposed to be compatible, why aren't they syncing when I follow all of the instructions? It is making me regret purchasing the SP mobile app (I always track on my laptop and never needed the mobile app, but thought I did in order to connect these accounts) and is starting to look like the whole process isn't as convenient as it's made out to be. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm a pretty tech-savvy person and had no issues connecting the Spark Activity Tracker back when I had it. Just not sure why these 2 seem to be having so much trouble working together. :(
Welcome to Sparkpeople. Be sure to take advantage of all the great free online sources available here, such as the nutrition and fitness trackers. Also, the online community is great. We are all here to offer support when you need it, or celebrate your successes with you.

Take this first week to familiarize yourself with the tools here. Once you get used to using them, it becomes easier to use them even when you are busy. Personally, I spent my first week learning to use the tools, and just tracking everything I was already eating and doing for exercise. It gave me a baseline to work from. It also gave me a chance to really decide what my goals were, and how to get there.
This site can only provide the support and the tools to reach these goals. You need to put the hard work in. Personally, I end up kicking my own butt every day. Feel free to check out my blogs to see how I kick my butt out the door to get my fitness in. I can tell you, once I am finished with my exercise for the day, I feel great. No more I should do this and I should do that. Instead, I feel accomplished, and able to relax and enjoy the rest of my day.
I'm sorry, I don't recall how I linked my sp and body media accounts. I think I just did it through sparkpeople. on your points page, there's a link to buy and link your body media. Have you tried that? I think that's how I linked mine. I had purchased mine previous to the option to link it, and used that link. It had an option to link an existing bodymedia device. I think you need the serial number? I'm sorry. I don't remember exactly. I hope this at least helps lead you in the right direction.

It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it GREAT

I'm new at Spark People. I just got my Bodymedia in the mail, but I wasn't able to add Spark People to BodyMedia. The link Sparkpeople provides wasn't working. Can someone advise me regarding how to set up my Bodymedia to sync with Spark People. Thank You.
