I loved my GoWear Fit for the two years that I used it. The only thing I didn't like was how noticeable it was. I've been maintaining a healthy weight for over a year now, so for me, it was OK to let the subscription go when I had to make a choice to replace my device or not. I'm using a Fitbit now and it works for me. I can track my steps and calories burned throughout the day, and it's discreet. It syncs with my computer and with SparkPeople, too.

Hit my goal weight 9/16/11 and aim to remain there for good!

What is the overall reading, though? There are always going to be some negative reviews, that's just how it is. I love my device and can't imagine going without it now. It's what I needed to get me up and moving regularly, and it gives me the information I want. Only you know what will help you most. I take the negative reviews with a grain of salt if most reviews are positive.

Here's how I looked at it when I got mine (last week!). I could get the lower-cost band, but I would need to get the display. I have an iPhone, so if I get the Link, which has the bluetooth, I don't need the display. The cost was better to get the link with no display for me.

The Link (that connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth) is about $150 directly from Bodymedia; with the coupon code SPARK15, the price drops to about $127, or slightly less than buying on Amazon ($129 there last I looked). The yearly subscription that's now available is $59, or two years for $89. If you stick with the monthly subscription, it's $6.95 a month, so you're saving $2-$3 a month by going with a one- or two-year subscription. You get three months free subscription whether you purchase it directly from Bodymedia or somewhere else, so that gives you enough time to get started and see how it works for you before committing to a longer subscription.

It's important to know that you **must** have a subscription for the device to do any good, but for me it's well worth it. Bodymedia is constantly working to improve the device and reporting, so I don't mind the small monthly cost. Hope that helps some; it's not for everyone, but the device has been a big help to me.

Okay, I just wanted to make sure which device you were talking about. If you have a smartphone, like I mentioned, I highly recommend the Link version because you don't have to use a separate display with it. Your cell phone takes the place of the display, so you can wear a regular watch. The Link device is a little larger than the Core, but it isn't that big. Good luck whatever you choose; mine is what keeps me motivated to get up and MOVE regularly instead of being my normal slug self, LOL!

Funny you mention the fitbit, b/c I have one of those, too! :) I was just thinking of the optional device you mentioned that is worn like a watch. When I watched Biggest Loser, I thought it looked like they were wearing a watch that went with the armband (that didn't have to be used, it'd depend on the user.) I know I'd want it. But I had asked someone, & maybe they were thinking of the fitbit, b/c the way they described it, it sounded like a normal pedometer.

Are you thinking of a Fitbit rather than BodyMedia? Fitbit is a little gadget you clip to a pocket to track calories burned and steps, BMF is an armband worn on the upper arm, not the wrist. Ittracks more and I suspect is more accurate, but both are good devices.

Thanks, that does help a lot! It makes sense abt the device now. I knew they had an armband, but I had asked people, & they said the watch was just something you clicked to your bra, or pocket, etc. Now that I know it basically is a watch, I feel better. Thanks!!

A lot depends on you and your situation. If you have a smartphone (iPhone, something that runs Android and has Bluetooth), I'd recommend the BodyMedia Fit Link. There is an app for smartphones that allows you to view your activity on it, otherwise you probably want the CORE armband with the optional display (that you wear like a watch) Take a look on the BodyMedia site (www.bodymedia.com) to see the differences between the devices. You wear the actual device on your arm in both cases. There's a 15% discount on BodyMedia with the code SPARK15 when you buy directly from them (see www.sparkpeople.com/bodymedia/ for the info and link), but I think the best price I've seen recently is from Amazon. Hope that helps some!

I don't know which one to get, though. I know this is probably a stupid question, but on the show, it really looks like the people are wearing their devices as watches, or maybe they are watches. But I can't find anything that mentions this. Any ideas, or am I just imagining things?!!?! :) I have read that people have gotten theirs at Costco, we have a
Sams Club here, I'll have to check there. Any help is appreciated, & I REALLY hope this can help!!!
