75 cents a jar??? That's AWESOME. Once you get gardening and freezing or canning, you'll see a great savings on your grocery bill.

Welcome! It sounds like you are well on your way to canning food.

Good for you! Just last year I got a new recipe, never heard of it before which totally amazed me, (I am 71) it is Spiced Tomato Preserves. Fantastic! I don't know why I have that attitute, I guess I think as old as I am getting I am supposed to have such common knowledge, hahahahahaha. Keep canning. I container garden. I should put a picture of my tomato plants on my profile, they are really growing. We have a great big yard but I started to container garden because I couldn't bend and work the ground, I have had two knee replacements, this is really working out good; now I can bend again but this is a much easier approach. Okay canning has quickly become my new favorite thing to do. I am a mother of three kids and anything I can do to save money is great, which is how I started canning. Over this past weekend I made a total of 300oz of jams. I broke it down to .75 per 8oz jar which i thought was great.
