I'm pretty good about drinking enough water in the warmer months, but when it's cold out I have zero interest in drinking water. I immensely dislike being cold and drinking water makes me colder. Unfortunately, winters here are extremely dry and water would really help. One thing I'm doing for the new year is stocking up on herbal teas. I hope drinking decaf herbal teas all day will be at least some help in the water department. My skin is cracking and horrible feeling because I'm so dried out. I really hope the tea helps.

I have no trouble drinking water anymore thanks to all the great sugarfree, carb free water flavors. Love the new Ocean Spray ones, now I feel like I'm having juice but no carbs. I also find I do better drinking water if I stick with water. If I start drinking sodas my taste buds don't want to go back to water.

I don't have any trouble with drinking enough water. I have a water bottle that has a straw, that really works good. But I've always been a big water drinker.

I too had trouble with the 8 glasses, till I started carrying a sparkpeople water bottle around with me... sipping that all the day. Now that it is winter, and a 10 degrees with wind chill... I carry a mug of hot water, warms my hands and counts as water!

i have noticed that when i dont track, dont sleep right and dont drink enuf h2o, i gain.

If stress could burn fat, I'd be skinny and if chocolate could add brain cells, I'd be a genius!

tracking is definitely key, so is being aware and planning ahead. Especially when going out to a meal/party etc. Eat a bit ahead of time, so you are NOT starving.
Don't next to the buffet table.
Drink non alcoholic drinks, the others make ya more apt to give in. Or at least spritz up your wine with some seltzer. Or drink one water for every other.
Those are things I have learned, f8nny..... all the articles say that too. Must be some truths in them!

Hi! I love Spark People .... there is so much information here and great motivational people. I have taken the step to be accountable for losing my extra pounds. I figured it would just go away if I exercised enough and ate right; well, I am not eating right. It's time to record what I am doing so I am aware of what I am actually putting in my mouth. I hope to use more of my gardening achievements to accomplish a life style of eating healthy once and for all! I am gearing up for a wonderful New Year and joining Spark People is a fantastic way to start!
