Thanks, all, for the welcome.

Net - That's just not fair....most of those won't even GROW in my part of Colorado.... but if someone can tell me how to preserve cactus fruits, I'll be in business! HAHAHAH....

We SOUTHERNERS can & freeze food for the winter, also. I do tomatoes, peppers, beans, peas, corn, eggplant, cucumbers, onions, brocoli, cabbage, peaches, apples, pears, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries,squash, okra,dewberries & venison.

Hi, I'm glad you came and checked us out. In Michigan we have our growing season in later Spring and through the summer. So we can and preserve all we can to make it through the winter too.

Hi. Lisa suggested I check your team out and I'm so happy she did. I grow my own veggies (quite successfully) and have always saved enough to last through winter - that's a long time here in Colorado! I envy all you southerners your long growing season... but you can keep your bugs! We process our own veggie slaw, tomatoes, horseradish, peas, cucumbers. I've never tried meat except already cooked like minced meat, chili etc.... can't wait to learn all of your secrets! LOL
