I'll just throw in a quick intro here. I'm a 51 y/o woman in Upstate NY. I'm from a family which loves its veg gardens and always put food by. In adulthood, I did a fair amount of canning as well. Far too many people gave me odd looks and comments of, "Why?" "Are you wierd or something?" I was surprised how many folks just couldn't understand it. I don't do as much as I did, but I did recently fill the refrigerator with too many jars and containers of tomato juice, awaiting some mason jars to seal properly. Tomato juice has always been my favorite item to can. God bless.
