I have Wii Play & Smooth Moves also. I was addicted to the Find Mii game on Wii Play, but I got too confused when it asked me to find the different one in the crowd on the bleachers. Smooth Moves was a blast on the solo game, but can be confusing on the mulitplayer for someone who never played the solo part.

I also have Zelda and Metroid which can be really fun if you are in to those types of games.

How is Monkey Ball? I played a version on the Game Cube and think it would be a blast on the Wii. What is your opinion?

That is great Chefbluerose. I was thinking about helping my parents find one. They aren't very keen on using electronic equipment, but the Wii just seems so easy to use. It is fun and helps burn a couple extra calories. I hope you really get our enjoyment out of it; especially after having to wait so long. Did you pick up any extra games for it, or are you planning on sticking with Wii Sports for now?

You all know how hard it can be go get Wii. We looked everywhere so I ended ordering our Wii on line with EB-Games. It was not to arrive until two weeks. The next day I went into a EB-Game store and found they just got their shippment of them.

Go Figure now that I had already pre ordered out I finaly found one.

Best thing we bought for us now that the kids are gone. It is all ours!

Oh man, that is terrible about the movers. We have had some horror stories about movers but thankfully I haven't had a video system stollen. I'm amazed that the PS2 is still going strong....selling even more units than the PS3 and now they are coming out with a new model of the PS2. That is amazing.

Oh yeah, welcome again to our group! Good luck on the weekend....

We got our first PS2 as a Christmas bonus the year they were released. That was pretty sweet.

I've actually bought my Wii twice. I lucked in to a shipment in the spring at a local electronics store. Then we move houses and the movers stole my Wii out of the truck (serves me right for marking the box PS2s and Wii I guess). So then we had to buy a second one as a replacement.

My Xbox 360 was giving me error messages until I went online and found out that the fan that I bought to keep it cool was drawing power from the cpu and causing it not to get enough juice to drive it. So I unplug it and I have not see an problem with it since. I guess you really do not need to use the fan.

Wanted my 360 at launch, but didn't get it until a year later. My original xbox was shutting off and dieing, but I was able to sell it at a game store before totally dead.

As for my Wii, my 360 got the red ring and I sent it to Texas. Well, I couldn't be without a system, so the local target had three of 'em. I bought it up as a very early Christmas present. Let's call it Christmas in August.

Great stories. I am going to be start working at a video game store just down the road to me. I was in there Friday just to look at the DDR game for the Wii I wanted to get, but just for kicks I asked if they had a Wii. My friend at work had ask me to see if they had any if I went. They did one left. I called him right away and he was like aww man I don't have money. I was like I bet you though I would go in and not find one. Well for some reason I guess no one asked them if they had a Wii and it was still there the next day. Since the manager had offered me a opportunity to work with him I told him I had my son's godmother that wanted one. Someone had called in asking for it and said he would be there in less than an hour. Well I was like okay well I will call in an hour and see if he doesnt come in. Guess what. You snooze you lose and bought it for my son's godmother because she was going to pay me back. So I got the last one there. Woo Hoo I am good. Maybe if I get my foot in the door I could tell my friends when Wii's come in the door.

Our Wii story is kinda funny, but not nearly like some of our other game related ones. The hubby and I both wanted a Wii as soon as it came out. We wanted a 360, but didn't have the cash! Well, the day preorders started for our area I ended up staying home sick. Josh was planning to slip out of work on a call or make a trip at lunch and preorder the system at one of the local stores. He forgot. He called me at home around 3 o'clock to say he had forgotten about it and to ask me to see what I could find. I called the two places in town and both had reserved all theirs already. However, the place in the mall told me that as of 45 minutes earlier the store in a neighboring town still had two and gave me their number. I called, they still had two. So I got in my car and headed out. By the time I found the store 40 minutes later I managed to reserve the last one there.
And, of course, for every reserve, there is the pickup story. The Wii midnight release fell on one of our gaming nights. So we drove 20 minutes out of town to go to our DnD game that night. Then left there early to drive an hour to pick up our Wii. We had preordered some extra controllers, but they didn't get enough controllers in. So we got our Wii and Zelda. Got to the car, no Zelda in the bag. My husband nearly had a heart attack. He went back in and the guy didn't believe him!!! By the time we got our game and headed out we knew we weren't going to be driving back out there to pick up our controllers. We picked them up locally and were thrilled about the black marks the store would be getting about having a product picked up somewhere else.

I first fell in love with the Wii when we visited friends in Boston in July. He worked at EB Games so he had one of the first ones to come out to his store. When we left I told my husband we MUST get a Wii! I posted on a message board I frequent asking how most of them got their Wii's since we are all in the same area and was told to watch wiitracker.com 2 or 3 weeks of obsessively watching this site and a few false alarms later, one came in stock that I was able to purchase and actually check out with.

There were a few times when I would get the item in the cart then try to checkout on the web site and by the time I got my info put in, it had been sold to another online buyer. I set up accounts with every place I could to have my stuff on file and had my credit card out at all times lol yeah I was obsessed.

Insert something brilliant and fabulous here

My fiancee is the crazy one that stands in line for games & systems. The only systems we haven't owned so far are the PS3 and the Wii, and we'll be fixing the latter on Xmas. My favorite is the 360 though. We just got Guitar Hero 3 the night it hit shelves and it's a lot harder than the previous two!

Sounds like you did with you getting the Wii for Free. I can't say I got mine for free. It took a lot of game trades and old system trade ins to get the credit balance at the store to be enough with some change to get the Wii.

I think we got a second controller and nunchuk, a game, a charging station, and a memory card. There might have been more, but that's what I remember. We had our own little Wii shopping spree. :-)

Wow Sarah. That is a great story. A free Wii. That is so cool. Since most of us paid for ours. Thanks for sharing. What accessary did you buy that ended up being 150 dollars?

I think my story is pretty good:

My husband and I had decided not to get a wii since several of our friends had them already. We figured that it would be more fun to go over to their houses to play with them.

Then, I went to an Expo through work where there were a bunch of booths trying to sell their products, and each one was giving something away, usually they're just trying to get your contact information so that they can bug you later.

A couple of days later one of the companies called me to tell me that I had won a wii at their booth. So, they shipped it to me.

My husband and I went to pick it up and on the way home we stopped and spent $150 on accesories and games for our "free" wii.

The only thing we ever waited in line for was for the game cube, but the ps2,ps3,xbox,xbox360,Wii,and every other system we have we didnt. The wii we just happened to be walking around in wal-mart between 12 and 1 in the morning and saw it. Neither one of us said anything to eachother as we both ran up to the guy with the keys to open it to get it for us. But i remember one day walking into target and there was a huge line for xbox360. An old lady walked out with her cart and instead of putting it in a cart holder out in the parking lot she shoved it into a car and the car happened to be one of the kids that were sitting there waiting in line and he got up and started screaming and yelling at this lady but the lady( who was proably in her 80's ) just acted like he wasnt saying anything to her and nearly ran the kid over. I couldnt believe it.

The Wii my fiance and I went back and forth on getting. You know, we have so many systems, do we really need it right now? Kind of debating. Our GameStop guy kept telling us to call every day if we wanted one to check. We did not do that.

One day I was like "I really want the Wii" So we went in the store and they still did not have any. We told them we were on the lookout for one now and a few days later when we went in they were holding one for us from the last shipment they got.

Every day is a chance to start over.

When the original xbox came out me and my friend went to an EB games and asked them if they had any that were not reserved. They said we had to find out so me and my friend waited in line till midnigh and had to wait till everyone that reserved got theirs. In the end we got the last two that were not reserve and had fun playing Halo 1 that first night along with PGR. That was the pretty cool. We had our picture taken and posted on the wall as being a lucky ones to get one without reserving.

I posted yesterday about this but Ill share again...

For the Wii... my bf went to the mall early and waited outside the store. The guy in the store asked what he needed and my bf asked if there were any wiis in stock and the guy told him there was one and if he waited there it was his. So he waited about 20 minutes or so and in the meantime a few others came for the same reason and my bf told them they did have one and it was his! LOL

The rest of the systems he just got after they were more available.

I knew a guy who knew a guy at Toys R' Us. They got the shipment in a few days ahead of when it was supposed to be sold for that week and we got it that way.

When we picked ours up last Christmas my husband was walking through Target and saw someone carrying one to the register. He went back to the electronics department and asked them if they had any and they went in the back to get it for him.
No lines. No waiting. Shear luck!

I wanted to start this because we all have our stories of waiting in long lines and just have the best luck in finding game systems when they first come out. What is your story.
