I'm almost 54. I remember the games you mention and even played some. I also played D&D in college and graduated to AD&D. I started MMORPGs with RuneScape but didn't play it much after the first year or so. I looked again a few years ago and it had changed a lot. Looked fun but I was not where I could play much (still not!). I like RPG's so played a lot of those on the PC and some consoles. I had Guild Wars and played it a lot until my desktop crashed. I forgot the email and password for the account (it was several years) when I finally upgraded my laptop to one that could push the MMORPGs. I have GW2 but have never loaded it. I do WoW when I have a spare hour or two.
I have been in college for a few years now so time is very limited with a full-time job as well. I finished the undergrad degree and decided on grad school. Most days I ask myself what the heck was I thinking starting grad school at 53! LOL

I am not your typical gamer, as I am a 55 year old mother of two twenty-somethings, who are also gamers. Due to several health problems, I have been limited in what I can do in the form of exercise - even walking is painful due to arthritis. I have been a gamer for as long as there have been games - my family was the first family on the block to get an Atari ... I was playing Dungeons and Dragons in college before it became AD&D ... does anyone else remember The Impossible Mission, Zork, and the Infocom/Activision interactive fiction games on Commodore 64 (and other systems)?

I progressed through most of the major RPG's - the Final Fantasy series, Zelda, etc, and my first foray into MMORPGs was RuneScape, followed by Vanguard: Sage of Heroes, a whole slew of MMORTSs, GuildWars 2, Diablo 3, and my current game, Dungeons and Dragons Online (Cannith server). I also recently started playing a beta version of The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, which is a bit corny but a lot of fun.
