Welcome from SE MN!

Track your food and exercise! It's very helpful to know how much food you are actually taking in every day. Plus tracking holds you accountable. Also read the success stories here. They are very inspirational.

emoticon I'm in central Mn too. (St. Cloud.) Set small goals. One step at a time. Some I set: cut down then stop drinking caffeine, drink 8 cups of water a day, no snacks after 8pm..
We're here for you! Let us know if you have any ?'s.

emoticon and emoticon from Chaska to a great team. We are glad you joined us. You may already be aware of some of the following information. I hope I can share some information to help get you started.

Take time to look through this awesome site and begin to use the tools available. I find the nutrition & fitness tracker valuable tools. Track every morsel you eat and count the minutes you exercise even "just walking". Motion counts even if you are starting with a 5 min. walk each day. Work yourself up to at least 30 mins. of exercise daily.

Read the wealth of materials available as they give you wonderful ideas of easy changes you can make.

Build fruits & veggies into your diet. Eat 3 meals a day as well as 1-2 snacks. Keep the snacks healthy, not "junk" foods. They are a lot of empty cals. Drink lots of water as this will help flush your system & give you a fuller feeling thus decreasing the hunger sensation. Do not attempt to eat LESS than 1200cals/day as your brain is told you are starving your body so it retains carbs & fats for the future; thus weight gain. Set up your BMI to get your calorie range and try to stay within it.

Post often. Ask questions and we will help you find the answers. Join in on the fun, challenges & conversations. You just might be able to help others with their dilemmas. Try getting as many SparkPoint as you can. Reason; this leads you to a lot of fantastic information. Most of all, have fun with us.

Best wishes to you on your journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Slow & steady makes a winner of us. Even if we hit pitfalls, get up. Know that a new day is right around the corner.
Try to be all that you can be. Work at it a day at a time.

Hello everyone. Well as you can tell I am new to this site. I am from central MN, and have never really done online weightloss groups before. I have a goal of loosing 40-70lbs. If anyone has any great advice I am open to suggestions.
