Walking is a great way to help lose weight. I lost most of my weight by walking. Also you need to watch what you eat. Try tracking your food on here along with your exercise. It really helps to see everything in front of you.

You may already be aware of some of the following information and I hope I can share some information to help get you started.
Take time to look through this awesome site and begin to use the tools available. I find the nutrition & fitness tracker valuable tools. Track every morsel you eat and count the minutes you exercise even "just walking". Motion counts even if you are starting with a 5 min. walk each day. Work yourself up to at least 30 mins. of exercise daily.
Read the wealth of materials available as they give you wonderful ideas of easy changes you can make.
Build fruits & veggies into your diet. Eat 3 meals a day as well as 1-2 snacks. Keep the snacks healthy, not "junk" foods. They are a lot of empty cals. Drink lots of water as this will help flush your system & give you a fuller feeling thus decreasing the hunger sensation. Do not attempt to eat LESS than 1200cals/day as your brain is told you are starving your body so it retains carbs & fats for the future; thus weight gain. Set up your BMI to get your calorie range and try to stay within it.
Post often. Ask questions and we will help you find the answers. Join in on the fun, challenges & conversations. You just might be able to help others with their dilemmas. Try getting as many SparkPoint as you can. Reason; this leads you to a lot of fantastic information. Most of all, have fun with us.

I'm Jessica. I live in Northern Minnesota. I have lived here with my husband for 5 years. We have two children ages 3 and 1. I originally joined SP to get rid of my baby fat after both births. Although I attained my goal weight I find that the scale is now creeping up again. I enjoy hiking, biking, walking, strength training, jogging and cardio kickboxing. I also enjoy camping, 4-wheeling and target shooting. My goal is to make permanent changes in my eating habits. I bought the SP Cookbook and have enjoyed the recipes. My goal is to get back to my ideal weight and maintain.
Hi from St. Cloud. I've lived here for 14 yrs now. I've been married for 7 yrs, I have a 9yr old stepdaughter, two daughters 4&3 yrs old, a cat, care for my mother in-law and 3 daycare toddlers. I got out of shape after having my two girls and then couldn't do anything for 10 mths do to my back. I started SP to get me on track, motivated and encouraged. It has been a huge help to me! Hello, I am from Graceville, Minnesota, I live on a small hobby farm, raise horses, have a dog, 2 cats. Born in Grand Rapids, MN, raised on a farm by Hill City, MN on a 5 mile dead end road. Have 2 boys Cory age 7, Steven age 6. I want to do more things with my children and I think walking with them everyday would be a good goal to have. I have been married to my husband for almost 12 years now. I have been diagnosed with Graves disease, Hypothyroidism, so have a harder time losing weight. My brother in law is getting married next year in May or June I believe and I would like to be to my ideal weight by then so I can dance the night away with out getting wore out before the night begins.
