You can do this! I was very very close to 200 pounds last winter. I joined Sparkpeople in January and lost 50 pounds in 8 months.

One key is to use the nutrition tracker and plan, plan, plan. You will want to pack healthy snacks to take to work with you because it is dangerous when you get hungry. It's too easy to go pick up something quick - like McDonald's. But if you have some healthy food packed you can resist the temptation. Also, exercise does make you want to eat healthier - it's amazing!

The number one thing I found is to be consistent. Log on every day and log your food in the nutrition tracker, keep reading articles. Even if you are having a bad day - log on. This will help keep your goals in the front of your mind.

You sound like fun...I am looking for locals to exercise outside with, as the cold weather makes me want to hibernate more, unless I have someone else to go with. Would love to chit-chat. Mailing this also.

Hi all! My name is Jenn and I'm a 24 (soon to be 25 on October 1st!) year old from Kalamazoo. I work full time in retail and while I am on my feet and moving all day, the need to feed myself quickly and inexpensively has taken it's toll on my thighs, belly and booty. My current weight is 206 lbs at 5'6" and I know that's not healthy. Even my Wii Fit Plus tells me I'm not where I'm supposed to be. More importantly, my doctor told me the same thing.

Three years ago I was hospitalized for a case of Toxic Shock Syndrome. It damaged my immune system, heart and mental health significantly. My doctor recommended that I lose weight and get myself healthy to help fight off the colds, flu and everything else that goes around. I need to do this to help myself recover completely as a new and stronger person. This is step one!

My goal is to lose 50lbs at a healthy pace!

As far as interests go I like to knit, crochet, sew, read, paint, draw, go for walks, dance, cook and goof off with my boyfriend. I LOVE movies and I am not ashamed to say that I am in love with Lady Gaga.
